Will the Dems Cover UP the Americorps Scandal?
Washington Examiner ^ | 06/16/2009 | Byron York

Can Republicans in Congress get to the bottom of President Obama's sudden -- and suspicious -- decision to fire AmeriCorps inspector general Gerald Walpin? The answer is no -- unless some. Democrats show interest in what could possibly be the first scandal, or at least mini-scandal, of the Obama administration.

In dismissing Walpin, the president seemed to trample on the law -- a law he himself had co-sponsored as a senator -- that protects inspectors general from political influence and retribution. In addition, it appears that at least part of the reason Walpin was fired was for the tenacity he showed in investigating misuse of AmeriCorps money by a friend and supporter of the president, Kevin Johnson, the mayor of Sacramento, California. Walpin got the goods -- evidence of Johnson's serious misuse of federal dollars -- and the inspector general ended up getting fired for his troubles.

If 0bama illegally fires an Inspector General for politically motivated reasons and no one in the State-Run Media reports it, do Democrats need to cover it up?

State-Media will do its part in keeping quiet.

As compared to the lunatic hounding of President Bush for firing a presiential oppointed federal attorney.

Life’s not fair. If you’re a democrat, you can get away with almost anything; the threshold for what constitutes a scandal is so much higher. Only when a scandal becomes so blatant that the media can no longer ignore it, only then does is get reported...and very reluctantly at that. I try not to think about it too much, if I did, I’d be mad all the time.

“Looks like a pattern here”. The state run media got the goofball elected and have covered for him more than JFK or FDR. Now ABC has become his lap puppy.

If you didn’t see it in another thread, part of Kevin Johnson’s “punishment” as doled out by the Obama appointed US Atty for Sacremento, was to take an online bookkeeping class.

I’m serious :-)

This is the nails in the coffin of American Freedom. There are many to blame for this sad state.
1. The Republicans who wanted power more than ideals.
2. Bush who didn’t protest when he was made to look like a joke and a fool.
3. The radical left who replaced history with red propaganda in the colleges.
4. The Victim mongers who replaced real Civil Rights with a desire for Payback to the man.
5. The industrialists who used the system and their bought political leaders to replace American workers with foreigners.
6. Lastly—we the peoplw who let it happen—we are to blame for a bit of hype to replace thought and elect a smooth talker to the presidency of the nation.
7. God has a stiff judgment planned for this land—Pray for what little freedoms the left will let you keep.
