Why would you threaten to boycott them?

I think a nice email should get the point across. Wyeth did not know what Letterman was going to say, and I’m sure, in response to consumer’s voicing their complaints, they let CBS know.

I emailed Olive Garden, as a consumer who the day before the Letterman event, purchased a meal from Olive Garden. I expressed my concern, and let them know that I knew they were not responsible for Letterman’s actions.

I received a very nice email in return, indicating that they had heard from others and had themselves voiced their concern to CBS.

Polite, understanding complaints go a long way.

Contact them and boycott them for as long as they remain his sponsors.

Once they react positively end the boycott.

If they continue to sponsor despite the obviously unacceptable remarks... they deserve to be boycotted.

No, hitting them in the pocket book is what they hear and react to. At 62 I was, until Letterman did this, used their products, now I am not.
