EC TRIES to Support an Aspect of Obama's Plan... REALLY (video)

EC likes the idea of shareholders having control over executive pay. He really does. In fact, EC has said for a long time that one LEGITIMATE function of government would be to shed some sunlight on how executive pay is determined in public corporations - and to give more power to the people taking the risk- the shareholders. Well... Obama says he's doing that. Is he really doing that... or just using that as a smokescreen to accumulate even MORE power over the US economy? I really wanted to say SOMETHING positive about Obama's schemes....oh, well.

One little problem with that! Most shareholders don't even know they are shareholders because they are in mutual funds, etc.

Who cares about executive pay?

The problem is that the Govt gives implicit (or explicit) gaurantees to many corporations. The US Gov’t has created so much moral hazard, as it is both giving money to, and now also taking money away from, so many major corporations.

I do... particularly the pay of those of the Executive branch.
