Its not the color of the students, but the culture. Black students know they are members of a privileged, protected class and act accordingly. Most come from single parent homes and have no concept of proper behavior, respect for adults and authority. Scholastic performance is considered acting “white” and selling out. Being disruptive and disrespectful is cool. Being threatening and abusive towards teachers and other students is accepted and and encouraged.

As much as public schools are criticized here, I think we can all agree that even the most dedicated of public school teachers can only do so much for “students” from these environments, especially when discipline is removed from the classroom entirely.

I think it's a cultural thing. I mean if I was a teacher and I had to choose between a bunch of kids who listened to rap, dressed like thugs, and had parents who didn't behave like adults and role-models who behaved worse-- and a bunch of Vietnamese kids who sat quietly and studied seriously because their parents would beat them if they got bad grades-- I would choose the Vietnamese kids.

I mean come on, if you have to tell a kid with cornrows to do something he doesn't want to do-- it's gonna be a long day.

I wouldn't attribute these differences to race, obviously, but to culture, media, etc.

Selective forgetting in the USA Today article. Back then, you may recall, white teachers were targeted by the race baiters as causing black students to fail because they were not able to relate to them and white teachers were said to be inherently racist.

Every conflict; every black quota failure was blamed on “racist white teachers.” The reason for this was to chase out white teachers so they could be replaced by “superior” black teachers. The race pimps were into segregated tribe building, not integration with whitey and surely not interested in excellent teachers.
