It must feel good to be so right without knowing all of the facts.

Getting into an argument with someone and calling them a name like the n word can be classified as a 4th degree assault.

So a young man, late teens, early twenties, depressed and gets drunk, says some stupid things to black hooker and now gets to spend the rest of his life in either prison or exiled from mainstream America. I can only image what you would have done to im if he had been picked up for drunken driving. Do they still use the rack?

You are one hateful person.

Perhaps in your world, attacking a woman is not worthy of consequence, but I am a law & order type and believe that criminals should take responsibility for their actions.

Sorry but a guy who goes out, gets drunk and calls someone a n***** does not deserve sympathy. There is no excuse for his actions, and even he admits that. Clearly he has not been exiled from mainstream America and he won't have to spend his life in prison. He will have to accept the consequences for his actions, which may include not being admitted to law school. He has admitted his guilt and tried to get his act together. I wish him nothing but the best.

I tell my kids all the time that some mistakes have very serious consequences. Ask my son's friend who had consensual sex with a sophomore who was fifteen, when he was eighteen. He lost his track scholarship to college, spent 12 weeks in jail and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He has gotten his life together too, but the consequences remain. Life isn't fair, and there are no do-overs. This is something that Marcus Epstien knows pretty well by now.
