"That 41% just isnt Republican voters. The undercurrents are bad for Obama and the GOP can capitalize and can win big if they stop whining and get back to their roots. I hope you're right. But, I've made a conscious decision to be pessimistic about 2010, lest I face the same crushing disappointment of 2008. It's just better for my mental health if I keep expectations low.

2008 went to pot as soon as the economy hit and the GOP didn’t throw Bush to the curb when he proposed the Bailout and then McCain rode to Washington and did nothing. I find it better to focus on winning till you actually lose. All we can do is do our part. My father voted for Obama and that was depressing.
