I don't know about anyone else, but Bill O'Reilly (O'Reilly Factor--FNC) seems to be bending over backwards to make friends with the left. For some reason, O'Reilly took another cheap shot at conservative blogs the other day, specifically targeting the Free Republic [www.freerepublic.com].
However, it is obvious what the popular television host is trying to do. By attacking blogs like the Free Republic, O'Reilly is trying to position himself as a man of reason, beyond the trappings of political partisanship.
Quite honestly, it is clear O'Reilly needs to do more homework before making himself look foolish. Comparing the Free Republic with Internet sites like ...

O’Reilly is trying to play both ends against the middle to maximize his ratings.

Well, it’s a losing proposition no matter what he does. The only way the left will accept Fox as a news source is if they sound like MSNBC... in other words fill their broadcasts with “Bush sucks” and other similar lefty intellectual discourse.

The comment he highlighted was a bit tasteless (something about Stodomyers diabetes and not living so long), but it is one of thousands of posts and even our worst is not as bad as the typical post on the left-wing hatefest sites.

OReilly is trying to play both ends against the middle to maximize his ratings. Exactly. It is classic Triangulation.
Memo to Bill: The left still hates your guts, no matter how much you kiss their feet.

O’Reilly has often stated that he is neither conservative or liberal.
Translation: He is unprincipled.

I have no use for BOR whatsoever, except maybe for some cheap entertainment value for when guests come by for a visit:

By responding to his dripple is just giving him more exposure than he deserves. He is still trying to have the world forget his perverted actions with female co-workers.

O’Reilly is an insufferable bore. He is most concerned with himself, try to count how many times he says “I” on each show. Or the number of times he shows clips of himself on Letterman or The View. He’s a clown, my only hope is that when he’s gone Laura Igrahm or Michelle Malkin take over his slot.
To: slackerjack
He’s always hawking crap from his web site.
To: Daniel T. Zanoza
O’Reilly is full of it. Wonder if he will have he guts to cover the New Black Panther story tonight?
To: McGruff
LOL How juicy! I wonder if Michelle Malkin knows about that.

Another lame comparison. That stuff he cites for FR is pretty mild compared to what I've seen the few times I have ventured onto those other liberal sites, which I don't do very often because it's like wading up to your neck in sewage. Just for general interest, I did a Google search using keywords f*ck, f*cked, and f*cking, and here are the hits I got:
democraticunderground.com: 239,000 hits
dailykos.com: 23,200 hits
huffingtonpost.com: 42,2000 hits
freerepublic.com: 550 hits
I leave it as an exercise for the student to decide which are the most vile, comparatively speaking.
