According to the Pew Research center, in 1960 3.5% of anglo babies were born to unwed mothers. Now it's closer to 40%. 40 PERCENT.

The refusal of the church to actually disfellowship people who are in gross sin has removed the stigma from what Bristol and Levi did in the first place. (Sarah, after all, was a "churched" woman. She's made a public confession of her faith and the faith of her family.) If you believe in 1 Corinthians 5, you might more properly see that Bristol is merely the most visible "data point" in a gross national sin--failing to call sin sin and failing to engage in the social remedy Christ commands.

While it doesn’t apply to Bristol’s specific case, the out of wedlock phenomenon started exactly when we started paying women to have children out of wedlock. Subsidize something, you get more of it.

I Corinthians, Chapter5? Are you accusing the Palins of incest? I have heard that accusation from some nutty leftists who wallow in Palin gossip like you do, so I think it’s a just question.

So you think the Palin’s church should boot them all out because of Bristol’s sin, or just Bristol? Is Bristol living in this sin right now? If so, what steps must she take to re-establish fellowship? How do you know she hasn’t already taken them? Are you certain she hasn’t repented? What are your sources of information? Gossip?
