What is your strategy?

George Washington's.

"Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God."

Actually, the fuller Washington quote is more to the point of the contention between you and I:

"If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disprove, how can we afterwards defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God." -- George Washington

Please tell me why I'm wrong in my belief that Christians who compromise with evil because they think it's the only way they "can win" are acting like they think God doesn't exist, and that He isn't in control of every situation and outcome.

"All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity.

And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men.

And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?"" -- Benjamin Franklin

The problem here is that YOU and those like DEACE think you're God and YOU will determine who is good and who is evil.

Is this a matter of degrees? My Bible tells me "None is righteous; no, not one". So that means we're always going to have to accept some degree of "evil". Please tell me those who are righteous enough to get your vote. How do you know?

We have to make choices. Tom, you're not perfect yourself. You know Deace would never vote for you because you have been divorced twice. He would rip you apart if you were to run for office. The problem is, I don't know where to find the perfect person. Everyone I know has some kind of blemish or wart.

We’re talking about the non-negotiable fundamental principles upon which our free republic is built, and upon which our liberty depends. The leaders in your party that I’m fighting against have compromised those, and continue to do so. You can continue to try to make this about me, or about Steve Deace or anyone else, but the fact is, we don’t have any direct power. The people you’re defending have had lots of it for the last decade. Power we gave them. They squandered it. Why do you want to continue that same process?

Your personal attacks get more and more outrageous.

Yup, and you're willing to throw them all out like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Your way is total surrender.

Wasn't the fact that Nussle was divorced was why Deace disliked him? Of course, I don't remember what it was about Lamberti that he found unacceptable. The list goes on and on with you purist types. You can always find something unacceptable about everyone.

You do know that now Deace and Salier are all over King, too. He isn't good enough, either. As a matter of fact, I know of NO ONE that is perfect enough for them.

This is ridiculous. Like Phyllis Schaffley said, "Someone is going to win and Jesus isn't on the ballot". Until Jesus shows up on the ballot I'm going to continue to choose the lesser of two evils and do it with a totally clear conscience.

I’ve done no such thing. Again, you’re making things up.

Deace, and divorce, and all this stuff, they’re just strawmen designed, by you, to take the focus off the real issues at hand.

That's quite an admission.

And you wonder why evil prevails? Incomprehensible.

The system is now totally rigged to make sure that those are the only choices you've got, btw.

And that is only possible because of people exactly like you.

By the way, that degradation of morality of the people, especially Christians, is what ultimately leads to choices in the end that are similar to the choices that were left to Germans in the nineteen twenties and thirties. “Choose the Nazis, because they’re not as bad as the communists.”

The heck they are. I'm pointing out how ridiculous this gets when we're trying to find the perfect people to choose to vote for in an election.

Deace uses every excuse he can find to eliminate someone. I am pointing out that you think you know it all and you are worthy. I'm telling you there are other "purists" who would never agree that you are worthy. You are evil. You have been divorced--twice!! Purist Deace would have a ball with that one.

That is not me talking, this is the way "purists" (like you) look at these things.

So who is righteous enough to be worthy of your vote? We certainly know you’re not worthy enough.

Anyone who understands that our rights come from God, not from man, that the primary purpose of government is to protect innocent human life, and that their oath is “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity,” ...and who has proven that they will adhere to these most fundamental of imperatives faithfully.

Those who can’t or won’t do the above aren’t fit for any office in the land.

It’s really not that complicated or strenuous.

If all Christians would make this demand without compromise, the country would be transformed.

Compromise of these basic American principles is what has led us to the edge of complete destruction. The only hope for stopping that destruction is to go back to these basics. Quickly, before it is too late.
