I was a grad student at the time, getting ready for my first class with the television running in the background. Just before the first large passenger plane crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center something caught my attention just in time to see it happen live. Can this be correct?
I thought there were no live broadcasts of the first plane hitting the WTC.

You might be right.
I’m speaking from my memory, from an event that occurred eight years ago that I saw on television.
It’s possible I saw the 2nd plane’s attack so many times I later thought I’d seen the first one too.

I thought there were no live broadcasts of the first plane hitting the WTC. Who said that? I saw it live on Fox News when it happened.

You are correct, there was no live broadcast of the first plane strike.
There was a French film crew I believe recording documentary footage for something in a New York Fire Department station near the WTC. They obtained this footage of the first strike, and it was broadcast later.
