Remember when Harry Reid had a little trick up his sleeve that could spell an end to President Bushs devilish recess appointments?
Well, apparently Harry has put that trick on the shelf as there are no plans to convene the Senate every couple of days during the Memorial Day district work period (AKA recess) to prevent President Obama from being similarly devilish.
It is curious that Mr. Reid would not want to guarantee (by keeping the Senate in session) a controversial nominee, say, Dawn Johnsen to the DoJs Office of Legal Counsel, go through the normal Senate confirmation process.
Some of the controversy surrounding Ms. Johnsens extends from a brief she filed before the Supreme Court where she equated pregnancy with slavery while arguing that Missouri could not withold state funding for abortions.
