American Idol Creator's Obama Worship Nukes Season Finale
Patriot Room ^ | 5-20-09 | Scott Martin

How American Idol's creator, and his apparent Obama worship, ruined the season finale of American Idol with politically correct bull...

I don't know American Idol creator Simon Fuller's politics, but judging by tonight's season finale, he's fallen for President Obama's hope and change act. And it resulted in one of the most lackluster finishes in Idol history.

For those of you who don't follow the show, for the season finale both contestants sing three songs. The first song is one of their personal favorite performances from the season. This assures that the performance will be good, and show those who are tuning in for the first time why each finalist deserves to be there. But still, it's nothing new to people who have been watching all season long.

The final song is the feel-good, mindless, "I've come out of nowhere and defeated the odds and prevailed" pap that gets released each year as the winner's first (and worst, except in the case of Taylor Hicks) track.

So the only chance for something worth hearing for the first time is the second song. Idol creator Simon Fuller chooses this song for each contestant, and in past years he's done well in his choices. As he should. The man knows his business.

But not this year. Tonight Fuller, apparently overwhelmed by Obama's promised free unicorns and the new peace and joy and worldwide happiness and prosperity since Barack Obama's election, allowed his personal political beliefs to influence his show. The show, as most do when influenced by politics, suffered.

Politics has no place in American Idol. One contestant, Adam Lambert, is apparently gay...

“Fuller chose for Lambert the Sam Cooke song, “Change is Gonna Come.” Yeah. Change. It’s gonna come. Think Stalin”

AGREE!!!!!

This was the first time Fuller picks songs. Previously, it was done by Clive Davis. Davis has moved on, replaced by Fuller.

Yes, when I saw the leak about his song choices, I was disgusted as well. It's good thing that neither Adam nor Kris performed well on those songs.

The coronation song is not that bad, but would have been much better if Danny, the worship leader who was sent home last week, sang it than these two.

Any politics in that final song is in the eye of the beholder. I think you may be suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Why does this matter? Our country is being stolen and our freedoms erased. Americans are worried about American Idol and who wins...if it is fair or not. This is exactly what our enemeies claimed they’d do...get our attention diverted to nonsense and then take over. (my translation, sorry!)

Wake up America!! It may be too late!

I didn’t mention politics in the final song. Do you have difficulty with reading comprehension?

Why does it matter.. Good question. Perhaps because Hollywood is inculcating minds with this mindless crap that glorifies surrender and hope and change, no matter the consequences.

I believe Fuller picked only the final song. Kara picked the middle two.

No, the singers picked their first song, and the third song was Kara’s. Fuller picked the 2nd.

Really great comments—i wouldn’t have caught the political slant of the song choices had you not pointed them out. I guess that’s fuller’s shout out to the right wing extremists who vote or watch AI.

I think you are on to something - think about american idol Christian voter news story...less votes for adam cuz of lifestyle.

I don’t know where I read the article about red state vs blue state. W/Chris being from the red state? Did you see it?

Just witnessing 60+ million AI voters being chastised...under fuller’s shout out to the right wing extremists who won’t vote for adam cuz he’s homosexual. It makes sense.

OK, that makes more sense. Still to say that 40 year old R&B songs are about Obama, well, I still think it’s a stretch.

Thank you, Kim.

To be honest, I hate to admit that I love the show. But why? It’s a talent contest, and we conservatives are supposed to appreciate talent. Maybe it has to do with me meeting my wife at a karaoke bar many years ago.

I hope Adam doesn’t lose because of his lifestyle. I don’t like his choices. Then again, I’m on beer number 9 tonight, and I won’t be the first one casting stones. It’s a damn good thing we’ve got grace.

Christians, like all other people, should judge a talent contest on the basis of talent. At least that’s my humble opinion. We aren’t like f-ing Perez Hilton - I hope.

While there may have been a political component in Fuller’s choice, it didn’t “nuke” the final. Lambert put his imprimatur on “change is gonna come” and Allen did nothing with his song.

In the final song, which was a straight comparison, Lambert totally owned it while Allen mumbled through the lyrics until he got to the hook, and then tried to belt it out but actually had no pipes to do so.

SHOULD be an easy Lambert win, but the voting on idol is far from predictable, multiple voting is clearly “de rigeur” hence the 85 million votes last week from an audience of less than 40 million.

What are you gonna do with “What’s Going on?” I agree that Adam is better, but why handicap the other guy with a song he can’t do anything with, except pale in comparison to Marvin Gaye as a singer?

A song that helped lose the Vietnam War for America

You have to be joking? That's insane.
I wouldn't watch that show at gun point, but both A Change is Gonna Come and What's Going On are fine songs. I wouldn't read too much into them. Would you prefer ABBA?
