What a clever idea! How long do you reckon before the gummint outlaws them?

Nah, they’ll just heavily tax ‘em. For the children.

Surely the FDA will consider this to be a drug delivery device. Therefore it will have to be determined to be safe and effective before it is marketed.

It doesn’t matter that it doesn’t emit “secondhand smoke” People will still go nuts if they see you with one.

They’re working on it already. I’m going to go get one today and try it out.

Tobaccophobics are funny when their false outrage is exposed. Fire one up at an indoor mall and see.

So, what are these things, and what do they do for you?

Also, if this is something you put in your mouth, did you notice that none of the packaging personnel are wearing gloves? I hope none of them just came back from a trip to the little boy’s/girl’s room!

They strongly suggest that you not re-fill the tip with your own mixtures.

What could those be? Cannabis? dimethyltryptamine? Salviniorin-A? 4-methylaminorex? GHB? Yopo? Cohoba? Toad venom?

The marketing possibilities for a secondary market are intriguing.

I haven't checked the link yet, but if these are what I read about a few months ago, they're very expensive.

“did you notice that none of the packaging personnel are wearing gloves?”

This is an issue with tobacco cigarettes. if you work with Teflon molding powder or Teflon lubricants, passing Teflon from your fingers to your cigarette can make you quite ill when you go take your butt break.

The Teflon pyrolyzes, you inhale it, and get “polymer fume fever” or Teflon Shakes.

There are probably other compounds, like insecticides, that would be bad if you put them in ciggs and smoked them. I mean other than the nicotine and PAH’s.

occmed.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/13/1/20.pdf

http://www.thoracic.org/sections/clinical-information/environmental-and-occupational/clinical-cases/pages/case8.html

Polymer fume fever (an inhalation fever) is a flu-like illness caused by exposure to the pyrolysis products of fluoropolymers, most commonly PTFE (1,2). It was first described in 1951 (3). Patients often experience fever, chills, cough, and dyspnea. Physical signs in the lungs are usually absent, but inspiratory crackles may be heard. Chest radiograph is usually normal and symptoms are self-limiting (1,2).

The device usually is made up of a battery, a red LED light, a water vapor emitter and a nicotine disk. They look just like a cigarette.
How they work is the inhalation activates the red LED at the tip, looking like a burning cherry. The water vapor fires up and generates the, “Smoke,” which is just water. The disk is heated and the fumes released give the nicotine into the user.

They sell a starter kit at the Smoker Friendly shops here for about $50.00.
I’m just curious about ‘em.
And my tobacco seedlings are taking their sweet time. I bought ten pounds of tobacco before the SCHIP taxes went into effect and don’t want to run out before my plants are ready.

So, is this a one-time use per stick item? Or, can you fire one up several times?

I read that one nicotine tip will last about 2-3 packs of cigs, and replacements are cheaper than the real thing. I’ll have to experiment with this for myself before coming to that conclusion myself.

Sounds like a good alternative to the real thing. Would be legal in the non-smoking establishments too (until they outlaw them anyway).

Hell, I like walking around places with an unlit cig in my mouth to watch the tobaccophones cough and choke on my imaginary smoke emissions in their vicinity.
