The thing I find annoying about this tax situation is the lack of reporting about why so many companies have moved offshore. How about fixing that.

Even business leaders that were highly supportive of Obama’s presidential campaign are livid over this latest revenue grab.

Even after this, they still won't sober up. I can hear them saying, "Does Obama know what this is doing to us?"

Why yes, yes he does. And no, he doesn't care.

Privately held US companies will have to run from the country. Public companies will have to follow in footsteps of Chrysler and share its destiny. Meanwhile yearly taxes of all kinds will be increased to 100% of your entire wealth, except $1,000 per head intended for food.

Since no privately produced food can be found for that little, the government will have to step in and sell cheap food rations. No farmer would sell their produce for that little, of course, so they will be called kulaks and shot, and their property will be given to poor, who will be collectively raising crops on that land. Hunger will ensue shortly, killing all the excess population, just as intended. It's not like we haven't seen it done a century ago... someone is clearly fascinated by the results.

Specifically, NEP in USSR was killed by raising taxes beyond what businesses could bear, and by adopting anti-business regulations, and by generally squeezing private businesses out of the market. That time is nicely captured in this book.
