Were this anybody else, I’d say it was preposterous, but this dovetails too perfectly with what we’ve seen these past few months. Yes. It is all for the closing credits of the upcoming Tuskeegee Airmen movie. I’d be happy to put money on it (if I had any money).
The only question is why insufficient notice was given. All it would have taken was public announcement in the local papers, radio and TV the day before and the whole thing would have been a thrilling, rather than terrifying spectacle.

The problem here is incompetent planning.
Not only wasn’t notice given to the public, according to this source, the city was threatened with sanctions by the FAA if they let the word out.
