it would not be many decades before the United States closely resembles the current stagnating European Union while Texas would resemble the United States that followed the Reagan Revolution where we experienced a quarter of century of economic progress (1982-2007).

.... sounds Heavenly, doesn’t it?

Well, I suppose Obama could cite the precedent of the Civil War and the necessity of keeping the Union together as an excuse to send in Federal troops. They need Texas and all those good resources and money too bad to allow Texas to get away from them. Or so it would seem to me.

Now that you mention it, has it ever occurred to you that the Liberals approach to life, in a nutshell, is that if everyone can’t prosper, then no one should be allowed to prosper? They seem to take the adage that a chain is a strong as its weakest link to a new level, where stronger links must be made as weak as the weakest link. If you have a chain with its weakest link in the middle and that link gives way the conservative view is you now have two chains, both stronger than the first. The thought never occurs to a liberal think to strengthen that weak link, just weaken the strong links!
