I’m not of the opinion that a person has to be perfect in order to point out the failings of others, but liberals take it to such an extreme that you have to wonder if they have any self-awareness at all.
I mean, when someone like George Soros, who collaborated with the Nazis, compared George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler, am I the only one who wondered if he meant it as a compliment?
Or take Janeane Garofalo, who says stupid things with such regularity you might take her for a sulky teenager even though she’s 44 years old. Because she is an ignoramus and has the self-righteous attitude of an adolescent brat, she was a perfect fit for Air America, where she and Al Franken competed to see which of them could attract fewer listeners.
For those of you who have managed to go through life without ever having heard the nasty sound bites for which she’s best known, your good luck is about to run out.
On one occasion, she said, “Our country is founded on a sham. Our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, ‘Oh, my god, you’re insulting me.’ That you can have a gay pride parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float, cheering, ‘We’re here and we’re queer!’ — that’s what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride.”
Another time, she announced, “The world would be better off with multiple superpowers. When the Soviet Union was a superpower, the world was better off.”

Garofalo would have lasted about 30 seconds in the old Soviet Union and then would have been locked up, far away from the general public, somewhere in the Gulag. It was not a permissive society in the slightest, but then again I wouldn’t expect an uneducated fool like her to understand that.
She is simply very limited intellectually and really quite pitiful. I would be interested in the family dynamics which produced such a specimen.
hmmmm, sounds like she agreed with the communists iron-fisted tactics at keeping the radical Muslims contained, and in that sense, would have to agree with her, we were better off.
Almost all radical Muslim countries were kept under the thumb of the USSR, and we saw that with Milosevic: he was just trying to continue the old soviet era way of dealing with them.

Family dynamics? My folks family dynamics produced one person totally unable to work in society, one dirty young, then old man who the extended family wouldn’t allow around children, one very responsible and jolly person, and me. I’m not able to disect myself... My folks weren’t mean, supported us, rarely hit us and then only on the butt, did PTA, boy & girl scouts, all of the things the Ozzie and Harriet generation they were, were supposed to do. The kids themselves decided to become what they became.
So, she liked living in a world that could have come to an end in roughly an hour? It was SOOOO very much better when we all lived with the constant threat of nuclear war.Yeah, that’s it.
Whenever someone spews the kind of hate that Garafalo and her ilk do, it’s just them projecting or transferring their own self hatred.
You don’t even need to take high school psych to know that.

I just can’t understand why she is so angry. Maybe because she was just basically unattractive. She mentioned something about pretty girls in Houston....

I have long held a theory that she was in love with a republican at some point and that person either cheated on her or dumped her for another woman.
Either that, or her father was a republican and she fixated on that because she hates him.
I would bet you are correct. I once knew a Palestinian born guy who fell in love with a Jewish girl in college in the USA. She eventually dumped him for whatever reason. He has come to hate Israel. But for his comfortable business position in Europe, has said he would love to go fight and kill Jews in Israel. I think it ties directly to his devastation from her breaking up with him, as he claims to have been raised a Christian.
