The EPA would flip if they knew my thermostat still has a mercury switch.

Its almost as ridiculous as putting a sign on a lawnmower telling idiots not to put their hands and feet underneath.
I bought a hammer, it says not to use it without safety goggles.

I watched and waited for the EPA to arrive with the SWAT team. It wouldn’t have surprised me. Ten bucks says some government functionary sends a nasty letter to Fox.

Safety goggles and “No-feet-under-the-mower-deck” signs are the purview of OSHA. Different agency, same type of BS.

What’s really disturbing is the fact that government mandates their use but makes it illegal to produce them here. This takes us right back to more low quality chinese made trash.
Personally I like them just fine but think it should be a matter of choice for everyone.

Does Glen Beck’s humor get old to anyone else besides me? I use to watch a few minutes of his show, but I do not think what he does belongs on Fox News.

I found him annoying at first. But I stopped watching and just read about his antics. Saves time and annoyance.

The forced use of flourescent light bulbs will invariably lead to another law of unintended consequences situation. Does anyone really believe every American who breaks one of these things will go throught this ridiculous procedure. How is the EPA going to prosecute the millions of Americans who will either dump these things directly into the trash can or take them out to a convenient out of the way place and dump them there? The truth is they can't, and they won't.
It's like the supposed future use of personal flying cars. What happens when the flying car stalls or runs out of gas one thousand feet above the ground? These fools never thing about the consequences of their actions.

There was a congressman that went through this on the house floor sometime last year. Wasn’t as theatrical, but demonstrated the absurdity of the US government.
