How about a West Million Man March

Posted on 04/18/2009 11:43:42 PM PDT by Kartographer

I understand that Allan Keyes is planning a Million Man March in Washington D.C. the weekend of Sept.12-13 and I would like to attend despite the logistics, its a long way from New Mexico to Washington. But I was wondering as Keyes' march site already says they have a half million signed up if may be a same day joint protest might be organized in the west that would not hurt attendance in the east?

Most of us work for a living and a weekend protest does help as we can wrap a few days off around the weekend a stretch the time we have. The problem is distance of course as a trip from Albuquerque to DC is over 28 hours by bus so you are looking a two days there two back at least.

So I was thinking what if Keyes or someone injunction with his organization staged a Million Man March here in the west to coincide with the one in the east.

What I would like to see is one held at Mount Rushmore! This would put the west version within a days travel from most everywhere west of the Mississippi:

Albuquerque, NM/12.5Hrs.,Denver, CO/6Hrs.,Salt Lake City, UT/9Hrs.,Kansas City KS/10.5Hrs.,Minneapolis MN/9Hrs.,Portland OR/18.5Hrs.,Phoenix AZ/19Hrs., Dallas TX/17Hrs.

Think of having that back drop as we patriots march to get back our REPUBLIC! Heck if nothing else it would please me to have the DHS take my picture with four of our history's most extreme rightwing radicals!

Is this something doable?

A good way to destroy the Tea Party movement is to allow Alan Keyes to stand in front of it and pretend it’s a parade in his honor. I know Keyes has a few supporters on FR, but the man is toxic to about 95% of the population, because he’s a freak.

Hmm I think that an even better way to destroy the movement would be to start calling names and throwing rocks. I like anyone anyone at all to name any conservative that has NO FAULTS! if we start making the movement about any one person then yes it will fail, but just because someone is facilitating the movement does not mean they own it! I can even go back to our founding fathers and each of them had their faults, are you say that since Washington owned slaves it the revolution as well as Washington’s contributions?

If numbers and mobilizing support are the name of the game, a West Coast city would make much more sense.

L.A.
or
San Diego

and, might as well make a 1/2 way stop at the “Gateway to the West”
at the foot of the arch in St. Louis.

whoops, forgot about Texas, I bet they could turn out a million at the Alamo!

minimum of 2 and possibly 3 -4 locations
