You tell’em Grampa Dave! Even tongue in cheek joking is not right when directed at the USN for something of this caliber (pun not intended). So, does anybody see (besides us Republicans)what happens when you cut the Goverment budget by taking away ships and Bases from the Navy, and giving it to “Other Programs?” You get this. I really would have liked to throw something at the other reporter who stated that there is no Navy in the World, combined or otherwise that is large enough to cover the amount of ocean there is out there. No S%*T! That’s why you bring small ships out of mothballs (OHP FFG-7’s and Knox Class FF’s) and put them out there to deal with this. That was one of their missions when I was on board them! Plus two Tarawa class LPH’s with Cobras and Harriers and you have a butt-kicking combination. Then you send the DDG’s in towards shore to take out the landbases with 5 inch & TLAM-C’s and see where we go from there.
Unfortunetly, nobody will listen to me...........
