“What the elitists pulled off in the ‘08 primary and forced in the state of VA the past couple of weeks is indicative of what they have become.”

The elitists get away with what we let them get away with. The name on the banner of the party makes no difference at all. We can take control of the GOP, where the power is, or continue to kid ourselves about third party fantasies that have never worked in 232 years.

I agree with this column. We are out of time to come up with a better party than the GOP to work within. Do you know how many third parties already exist? About 50... not one of which is viable in national elections...

Divided across numerous “ideal” third party options, we remain POWERLESS! United and in control of the GOP, just as the Socialists took full control of the DNC, we have power...

I am amazed how many “conservatives” think they can compete with a party that they couldn’t even maintain... This insanity MUST stop!

I’m starting to believe that people promoting such nonsense in the conservative movement, are plants from across the political aisle???

We either unite NOW, or we fall...

I agree! Allowing them to shove MeInsane down our throats was a huge mistake. Instead of fighting everyone simply acquiesced.

We can take control of the GOP

Really? You may want to contact Jeff Frederick in VA and ask him about that. Nine months after his overwhelming victory the elusive "central committee" have managed to have him removed.

I agree with this column. We are out of time...

Theoretically, so do I. But I contend that we were out of time January 29, 2008 when MeInsane was declared the presumptive nominee having captured only 25% of the vote of only 7 states, leaving 43 states no choice at all. And yes, I do know how many third parties there are.

This insanity MUST stop!

Couldn't agree more. Accusing conservatives that prefer to stand on principle and traditional values of being plants from across the isle is only adding to the insanity.

We either unite NOW, or we fall...

That would have made a great battle cry in the fall of 2007. You may have noticed, we united around the worst candidate I've ever seen who puts an R after his name, and we have already fallen...big time.

Wake up! The GOP has become the party of the squishy middle, appeasement and the all important compromise.

Compromise, hell! That's what has happened to us all down the line -- and that's the very cause of our woes. If freedom is right and tyranny is wrong, why should those who believe in freedom treat it as if it were a roll of bologna to be bartered a slice at a time?
