They are now saying that Obama gave permission to use military force on both Friday and Saturday. But I’m still not convinced that the military didn’t already have standing permission in this case and that the claims of Obama giving permission is simply Obama trying to take credit for it.

It would be a nice question to ask the military to get clarity though.

Then it would serve no purpose to base actions of Capt. Castellano and Navy SEALs on "imminent danger" legalities. An order from the Commander in Chief to take pirates out is basis enough.
