Seems to have worked out perfectly, but the only credit I’d give to Obama is that he apparently listened to the experts on the scene, who probably advised not to move too soon and not to take action that would threaten the captain’s life until that became just about the last option.
Meanwhile, bloggers and others of all stripes were screaming for everything from drilling holes in the bottom of the boat to just going ahead and sacrificing the captain to show those pirates. The U.S. — and particularly the military on the scene — came out looking quite good, IMO.
