Here is video of Sen. Ted Kennedy throwing out the ceremonial first pitch yesterday at the Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park in Boston. . . . . . (Watch Video)

That was painful to watch. Ugh.
I was invited to attend the game. I’m glad I didn’t accept the invitation.
They played two tunes. One was from the theme from the HBO movie series, Band of Brothers a true story about a heroic 101st Airborne Company and its many fights across Europe. Of course Ted was in the Army too in Europe, supposedly as a clerk typist in the American embassy in Paris. He was there because he got kicked out of Harvard for cheating during the Korean War and was immediately drafted.
It’s nice to have your father have friends.
The other tune was from the local band, Drop Kick Murphy’s, which was a famous old alcoholic dry out farm, commonly known as Drop Kick Murphy’s.
So, somebody has a sense of humor, a tune about hero’s for the coward of Percha Pond, and one from a band named after a flop house for drunks.
Very fitting.

They should have displayed a picture of Mary Jo’s face on the scoreboard.....Just to remind everyone he’s a murderer.
How much longer Lord.
This gives me a reason to root for the Yankees.
The Red Sox Nation bites the big one!
The owners of the Red Sox are wicked liberals, of the Brookline/Cambridge variety. I don’t think they saw nor intended any irony whatsoever. (It’s Poucha Pond, btw.)
Band of Brothers, of course, is a tribute to his three dead older brothers, all more accomplished than he’ll ever be. Say what you will about their politics, Joe Kennedy Jr. was certainly heroic and died undertaking a very dangerous mission he had volunteered for. JFK’s war service wasn’t particularly distinguished, but it was completely honorable and praiseworthy. (I don’t want to hear all the petty second guessing of you-who-were-not-there, please.) Bobby Kennedy may have been self serving and devious but he was a staunch anticommunist and pro-American, and that means something. Bobby was also his own man and knew what he stood for.
Ted is a weak, vacillating man, living off the legacy of his brothers and his father (literally). His father intended Joe to be President and Jack to be Senator from Massachusetts. Ted was supposed to be Senator from Rhode Island, treating the Ocean State as a Kennedy family colonial outpost, a place of exile for the black sheep. In the event, they inflicted Ted’s son, Patches, but as a mere Congressman who is clearly in way over his head. To a Kennedy, congressman is a demeaning profession, comparable to low caste washer of the dead to a Hindu.
Ted holds no principles, merely ambition. He is a follower, he embraces whatever positions are favored by the “progressives” at the moment. If not for Mary Jo he would have become president, either in 1972 or 1976. He would not have been as bad as 0, but he might have outdone Jimmy Carter in futility and fecklessness.
Heh heh... the windup and the... um... “pitch?”
Y’know, I’d have more compassion for him if he were a good man, but I frankly believe he’s evil. Soon, he will be standing before God and answering for Chappaquiddick (along with everything else).
“Joe Kennedy Jr. was certainly heroic and died undertaking a very dangerous mission he had volunteered for. JFKs war service wasnt particularly distinguished, but it was completely honorable and praiseworthy.”
I totally agree — JFK had a LOT of skeletons in his closet too, but he, at least served his country with honor when called, unlike the POS that occupies the WH now. 0bama has been compared to JFK, and to that I say (borrowing the Lloyd Bentsen phrase), “he’s no Jack Kennedy.”
GO YANKS! WE DON'T INVITE KILLERS TO THROW OUT FIRST PITCHES!
While I don’t necessarily disagree about the older Kennedys, its interesting to note how we’ve lowered that bar as to what constitutes someone we’ll defend on here. Or, maybe the bar has just lowered itself.
I’m still looking for video of Biden getting booed in Baltimore.
“Today (ay ay ay)... I consider myself (elf elf elf)... to be the most liberal man on the face of the earth...”
My dream: All the fans wore tee shirts with “Mary Jo” boldly frontly displayed in red.
Yep.
“While I dont necessarily disagree about the older Kennedys”
It was just by comparison. JFK was still a scumbag in many ways, but he did at least like his country. I don’t believe the same about Teddy.
I’m not defending anyone particularly, just pointing out the yawning gulf between Ted and his brothers in ability and initiative.
