Common decency is never a bad trait to employ.

When you let the other side set the rules you've already lost.

Every "civilized" culture that has been attacked by "barbarians" has lost. If you try to take the high road the trash will beat you every time.

We have to learn to fight like them without becoming them. It's a dangerous game but we can't beat them by being nice.

I’m not suggesting we let the other side set the rules. The other side is already obnoxious. It is one of many reasons I find them insufferable. I will not become that which I dispise.

I never said be “nice”. I said be decent. One can fight vigorously without being obnoxious.
