Here is video from today's Meet the Press where Sen. John McCain talked with David Gregory about Gov. Sarah Palin and the future of the Republican Party. McCain said the party must be the party of ideals and must become more "inclusive," particularly in respect to Hispanics. McCain said he is sure the GOP will come back.
McCain also indicated he would be willing to work with Obama on Immigration Reform. When McCain was asked about future leaders of the GOP, he named a series of people, including Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Tim Pawlenty, and others. But when asked point blank if he would support Sarah Palin, he would not say he would support Gov. Sarah Palin for President. . . . . . . (Watch Video)

Juan is off the reservation. (US Indians not to be dissessed.)
please Juan....just fade away...please
McCain is finished. He had his opportunity. He did not want it badly enough to fight against the BS his opponent was putting forward. Oh Well!
McQueeg, the Bob Dole of ‘08.
He earned a nomination by getting old in the Senate.
McCain can't hold a candle to Bob Dole as a man, as a politician and as a Republican... McCain knows it, Bob Dole knows it, and American people know it.
McCain, please just go away..and I must thank him for not endorsing Sarah because an endorsement from McCain is the kiss of death. Damn..if only we had a actual Conservative on the TOP of the ticket in 2008, we might have had a shot to win, instead we got stuck with this bozo
All this shows is that NO ONE is stepping into the Washington vacuum.
On thing that hurts day to day is that none of the potential leaders are actually IN Washington. That will be GOOD if they win, and could be a selling point later, but it isn’t great in terms of staying in the public eye as a “leader”. Jindal, Palin, Sanford being Governors...and Governors of less populated states...Romney isn’t doing anything official and Huckabee is doing whatever you call what he is doing on Fox.
I was expecting someone like Pence or Ryan or even John Thune to try an elbow their way in to more of a media role, but I’ll admit I am not following the congress as closely as I used to.
Of course, you can only go on these shows and get in the media eye if they want you to be there.
Senator McCain, if you want to be part of “the party of ideals”, how about standing up for some principles, like loyalty. Sarah Palin worked very hard for your campaign and she was thrown to the wolves by your campaign staff. Then, after the election, your people continually slandered her calling her stupid and attacking her wardrobe to the MSM. You refused to to stand up for her once. Now you are trying to gain favor with the MSM, who hate Sarah Palin, by refusing to support her. You really set a great example for a “party of ideals.”
Tim Pawlenty = lol.
McCain should have re-asserted his claim that she was most responsible for his vote total, that he made at the Heritage Foundation earlier in the week.
Hey Juan,
re: Future of the GOP -
Imagine a picture of me and you
Only you’re not in it -
It was Palin that ignited the spirit of middle America and filled the locations where she spoke. People admired her common sense and honesty. People are tired of Washington elites and politicians who lie to get elected. Is anyone keeping score of how many promises Obama has already broken.
Support your local Tea Party!
inclusive means = amnesty for illegals
Nor your daughter. Don’t let the door....
Not entirely correct conclusion. All this shows is that media is going to invite McCain (and Grassley, and Lugar etc. etc.) to their microphones to try and define the future of GOP. Nobody is under any obligation to pay attention or agree with these dinosaurs, they are only speaking for themselves. As a matter of fact people can step up by publicly disavowing their comments, and stating that they do not speak about the future of the Republican party.
Remember Christine Todd Whitman, and Most people don't, and that's the way it should be.
Thank you for that. Bob Dole was a good man...except for the VIAGRA commercial!
