I hate both commercials from this guy and Billy Mays. Maybe I can watch one more Sham-Wow commercial if I think about his crackhead mugshot while it's on the television. He looks a little rough around the edges in that picture.

What’s up with that goofy microphone headset anyway? Ever been to a county or state fair? They have a "commercial" pavillion or two that have all kinds of "modern" stuff to sell to people out in the boondocks who might not have TV or some such thing to become aware of "newfangled" gadgets and such. Often, the huckster would wear a microphone that transmits into a speaker system so a crowd can hear the pitch.
I think that's what Shamwow guy is trying to channel here.
