South African white people who naturalize into American citizens might be called African Americans. Try again, obamanoid.

Even myself, having lived on three continents and as a husband in an interfaith marriage, I have difficulty keeping up with what certain ethnic groups prefer to be called.

Thus, I apologize for my use of the term "African American."

I hope you will accept my apology.

South African white people who naturalize into American citizens might be called African Americans.

There was a white guy in my College Republican Club back when I was at Columbia who was born and raised in South Africa. He became a naturalized US citizen when he was in high school. He put "African American" down as his race in every single college application he filled out. If there was no "African American" box, he would check "other" and the write it in.

We all thought it was very funny. However, administrators at a couple schools that required interviews weren't amused.
