Roxana Saberi, an American citizen and a native of Fargo, N.D., has been held in a Tehran prison since the end of January. The Iranian government says she was doing reporting work after her credentials expired and they picked her up two months ago after she bought a bottle of wine. While alcohol is illegal, her action was not uncommon and her parents feel as if this was simply an excuse to arrest her.

Wish the US judicial & immigration officials would be so vigilant.

She was getting her “master’s degree in Iranian studies.”

Yeah, I don’t care that she was jailed in Iran. She was only there to sympathize with them in the first place.

How many conservatives do you know who get visas into Iran as reporters and go to school for that sort of master’s degree?

She got what she deserved, from how it appears.

I have never been to Iran, but I would throw a complete "I'm your father, and what you are doing is stupid" tantrum. But her father, who is from Iran, expressed concern?

This lady's actions show that she thought she was immune to the world's "friction."

I will show concern about this issue right after the democrats show concern about violent muslims.

(1) She holds dual citizenship—American & Iranian, (2) she bills herself as a “freelance” journalist, (3) her credentials expired 3 years ago, (4) she moved to Iran to work as a journalist & to obtain her masters degree in Iranian studies 6 years ago, and (5) and she was arrested for purchasing liquor. She knew what the country’s political and religious persuasion and the anti-American sentiment. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that she was pushing her luck. Since her pappy must be Iranian, she must have felt that she was above regular mortals on the street. I’m having difficulty with intelligence of this woman or the height of hubris by this woman.
