You guys are over thinking this AIG bonus crap. Go back to political corruption 101 - Chicago style.
1) AIG executives like the Che lovers donated heavily to the Democrats and Obama during the last election cycle.
2) Obama has language via Sen. Dodd (D-CT) inserted into the stimulus bill that will protect his campaign donor’s rice bowl.
3) Once the jig (no pun intended) was up, the cockroaches went scurrying blaming each other and no one like the AIG bonus section wrote itself or spouted from Zeus’s forehead.
Exactly. Like the ‘internet meme’ when talking about a ‘herd of cats’........eventually they will be distracted by something shiny to play with.
That's Mike Allen's assessment of a proposed health-care and carbon-tax jam down via the Budget Resolution, an end-run around the Senate's 60 vote rule, which has previously only been used for tax code changes impacting the budget, not major policy proposals like an overhaul of health care and cap-and-trade.
The best argument against the jam down is in the dismal results of recent past jam throughs.
Last fall the Congress pushed through the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act ("CSPIA") which is causing the needless destruction of billions of dollars of goods and crippling whole industries.
The stimulus bill itself had numerous screw-ups within it, hidden from view and correction because of the speed with which it was advanced.
The AIG bonuses are a result of carelessness and haste on the part of Team Obama.
Imagine what will happen to your health care or the country's entire economy if the mad dash methodology is adopted for medicine or cap-and-trade.
The Senate should be in full revolt over the stripping away of its institutional role, and the MSM should be mocking the idea that this was ever a president committed to bipartisanship.
You hear crickets because 85 stupid Republicans voted for the unconstitutional targeted taxation.
“Set them up and knock them down!” I guess the bowling alley isn’t the only place Obama practices this M.O.!
Does anyone here doubt now that this wasn’t COMPLETELY PLANNED??? THEY CREATED THE SITUATION on PURPOSE to be able to USE these people to create the class warfare they NEED to destroy our Constitution.
Can’t WAIT to see how many people end up under the bus to protect Obama’s “SHOCKED” self!
“The White House did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment”
It had better not be any of the Republicans who voted for the Bill of Attainder yesterday!
Mystery Solved

This has to be leading up to forming a 3rd party if NO Republican is able to gain traction an get this swamp drained. ( they all wussies?)
This is where the media influence comes into play. Without a microphone and a camera, Republicans have no ability to communicate to the pubic. During the Bush years it was standard procedure for the media to get soundbites from angry dems to further their agenda. Not gonna happen here.

The video itself comes from the RNC. Also if you scroll down in the article, here are some of the Republicans speaking out.
The big test will be when the media start blaming Senate Republicans for blocking the AIG tax which is aimed at gutting American finance of its best and brightest....

Senator Chris Dodd in Political Trouble, losing in poll: The Rasmussen poll suggests that Chris Dodd’s problems may adhere to Democrats as a whole. The generic party preference, according to Rasmussen, favors Republicans in the 2010 election for the first time in many years.

“AIG is Obama’s ‘Katrina’ — in terms of an example of government’s failure — and the failure of presidential leadership.”
... That’s according to former Ohio Secretary of State and Family Research Council Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell.

But then we’d get Biden. No happy ending.
Maybe he’s jumped the fork.
I was thinking this exact same thing yesterday. What better way for marxists to whip up public hysteria against "the rich" and capitalism in general then by pointing out examples of alleged abuses of the same?
It all just seems a little too perfect doesn't it? An openly radical and marxist administration in the White House that has made no secret of its intentions turn this into a socialist/fascist nation where the government controls everything. A heavily leftist/statist Congress that has been itching for excuses to seize even more power over private enterprise. And a trillion dollar bailout that was pushed through in such a quick manner as to make it nearly impossible for anyone to have actually read. Now that the sheeple are starting to rumble about it possibly being a bad idea to let the government have so much power over everything, a perfectly timed gift comes along, in the form of bonus money, to serve as a reminder to the public that an all powerful government is the only recourse against real or perceived abuses.
Interesting how this has played out in such a way as to allow the all-wise and benevolent government to ride to the rescue at the exact moment when the chorus of questions was getting louder. This country is in for some dangerous times.
Chris Dodd must be in full CYA mode.
Chris Dodd (in a safe Democratic state) has dropped to even in the polls for his 2010 re-election against his Republican opponent.
Basically, he realizes he has to shift the blame to get re-elected to the Senate (throw Obama under the bus to get re-elected...)
Are any of you really expecting that the RATs will resign or remove the idiots who made this happen? Get real! RATS don’t resign, only Pubbies do that, and for a lot less reason to do so.
Yes, and obie's people are playing folks like a violin. People were confused and angry and didn't know who to be mad at, so obie handed them the evil folks who got the bonuses, which amounted to 0.1% of the AIG money. Meanwhile, as folks rage at the execs, the obie people are dismantling the USA.
