“And who invests in the giant hedge funds? Sovereign wealth funds that also fund terrorism. So, if your rep voted for TARP, TALP, the stimulus package from last year or this year or any of these other corporate welfare bailouts – they’re directly responsible for redistributing your money to al-Qaida.”

I’ve been following the substantive issues on AIG (not the ridiculous and microscopic bonus hysteria) on some of the financial blogs and it does seem that AIG has been funneling BILLIONS of its “bailout” buck$ to foreign banks which indeed were supporting private hedge funds.

I’m not sure that the probable but unprovable “funding terrorism” angle is eclipsed by the more certain “funding hedge funds” angle.

Especially since the hedge funds have been betting against America for many years and now American taxpayers are effectively paying them off.

It makes sense when you factor in the Sept. 11, 2008 550 billion dollar run on the US Treasury. Now I understand why Bush was so shaken.

It was an alleged $550 billion run on money market funds and I’m not sure I believe that number just as the “$50 billion” Madoff scam sounds bogus and contrived.

But since newspapers no longer do the job of reporting and since the feds are in the business of lying and deceit, we’ll never know the truth of either number.
