You can interrogate links before you open them by moving the cursor on the link without clicking. On my monitor, the URL shows up in the bottom margin.

If the URL is too long, then right click. Look for "Properties." Click on that. The URL is there.

Very interesting.

In 2007 the Folding@home team at Stanford completed a molecular dynamics simulation that showed that proteins fold differently in a confined solvent. The paper is here:

http://www.pnas.org/content/104/25/10430.full.pdf+html

Folding@home has recently moved much of its research onto NVidia and ATI graphics cards, and have shown a speedup of 700 times faster. As a result, the total processing accomplished by the 400,000 systems that make up Folding@home has exceeded 5 petaFLOPS, making F@H the fastest computing effort anywhere.

MD simulations are becoming increasingly sophisticated, but the interactions inside a cell dwarf all of our imaginations and techniques.

Active CPUS are defined as those which have returned WUs within 50 days. Active GPUs are defined as those which have returned WUs within 10 days (due to the shorter deadlines on GPU WUs). Active PS3's are defined as those which have returned WUs within 15 days.
*TFLOPS is the actual teraflops from the software cores, not the peak values from CPU/GPU/PS3 specs. Please see our main FAQ, PS3 FAQ, NVIDIA GPU FAQ, or ATI GPU FAQ for more details on specific platforms.
