Obama won’t take exception to new laws he signs. Except when there’s an exception.

EXCERT:

There’s a little-known Presidential prerogative that allows the Commander In Chief to add “signing statements” to bills as he signs them into law. The purpose is make technical corrections in legislation or to guide officials in enforcing laws.

“President Obama promised yesterday,” a slanted Washington Post’s article said, “that he would rarely impose his own interpretation of legislation by attaching statements when he signs bills, pulling back significantly from the controversial use of the tactic by his predecessor, George W. Bush.”...

It's official now. We are no longer a nation of laws. We are a nation of the cult of personality.

We've been that way for a while. There's just a new King in the castle now, so some people are just waking up.

The whole "signing statements" thing really started in earnest with George W. Bush. He tried to use them as a sort of "line item veto." Rather than veto an entire bill, he wrote up a "signing statement" that said he thought provision a, b and c in this bill were unconstitutional, and his administration would ignore those provisions. Then he'd sign the bill.

That was never the right way to do things. But I guess George W. Bush thought that was less confrontational and "more popular" than vetoing the law and sending it back to congress with an explanation of which provisions he objected to, and making Congress either fix the law, or override his veto.

And there's more discussion of one of the articles about this from earlier this week at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2202811/posts.

Also see, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2204630/posts for a thread about Obama's first use of the "signing statement" to declare that 5 provisions of the Omnibus Spending Bill are unconstitutional and direct his administration to ignore those parts of the law.

Signing statements -
I have read those articles.

However, this behavior is not limited to just signing statements. It has to do with all the illegal and lies relating to the one.

Nominating people who's job it is to regulate our taxes but paid none himself. The whole global worming agenda. (not a misspelling) Birth certificate ... it goes on and on.

It is all about the messiah being elected or coranated not about his ability to lead or obey the laws every of lessor status having to live by.
