Remember the President's promise to go line by line on every bill to get rid of the earmark? Didn't take long for that to go out the window. Not only was his stimulus bill filled with pork, but so is the omnibus spending bill the Senate is about to pass. Although one has to admit that it is a nice touch that one of the earmarks is a study investigating why pigs smell. Pork about pork, how creative. Heck the earmarks in the latest spending bill is so bad, that Chris Matthews is complaining about them (see video above). If the President doesn't overturn the earmarks in this bill rather quickly, Mr. Matthews may lose that famous thrill going up his leg.
Then of course there is the famous tax cuts he promised, supposedly only on the richest five percent in the country, that is misleading also. For example everyone in the country will be paying higher taxes on energy based on the President's carbon cap plan.Why does it seem that the American people were misled on just about every Obama campaign promise?
So what it comes down to is Did President Obama plan this all along, did the situation change since the promises were made ? Or did he plan to break almost everyone of his campaign promises? Maybe that's why Karl Rove is asking if America fell for the Old Bait and Switch?......
