Debunking this "report" was easy. All you have to do is read the original survey, and realize also they only checked for paid porn (calling it consumed porn) and ignored free porn (the majority).

The media has linked ABC's report EVERYWHERE as people laughed at "hypocritical conservative pervs." We need to get the article linked into all the places peoplee posted ABC's report.

How about a Conservative class action law suit instead?

Actually, I think a larger problem is that they did their research by state, rather than by individual. Not everyone in a conservative state is conservative. Houston, for instance, is a very conservative city (when you include the suburbs) — but, it also has one of the largest gay communities in the country.

Secondly, even if the report is accurate — who cares? Christians and conservatives will readily admit that their moral standards are unattainably high, and that we are all fallen beings. I am not among those that believe hypocrisy is the highest crime — those with moral standards are invariably hypocritical in some respect. Punishing hypocrisy higher than moral turpitude simply rewards the lack of standards to violate.

We are saved by Christ’s sacrifice — not by our piousness. Many genuine Christians struggle with pornography.

A holier than thou liberal friend sent this to me this weekend to point out Conservative hypocracy.. after a long spill about personal responsibility versus government regulation and the misuse of statistics, I also pulled out a chart that showed that Viagra sales are higher in Blue States, thus the conclusion that porn sales are lower there because liberals just can’t ‘function’. That shut him up.

Anyone that has attended an adult, all-male Bible study (or similar) group knows that this is a huge temptation for men of all ages and types. The hypocrites aren’t the men that view porn, it is the men that claim they aren’t tempted by it.

I’m not making an excuse, I’m facing reality. Like a lot of temptations in life, men need help with this one. Unfortunatly, it isn’t one men (at least Christian men) talk about much openly (certainly not in front of their wives, who are not going to understand the temptation.)

Our chruch encourages men to get involved in a “men only” group for exactly this reason. There are some temptations that are unique to men and can only be handled with the support of other men.

It’s for medicinal purposes.

I’m not kidding, either. I’ve heard from several older guys that it’s cheaper and safer than Viagra.
