R.Santelli Rant a Plant.....(barf)
The Big Picture ^ | Feb 28,2009 | B.Rithholz

Posted on 03/01/2009 10:57:34 AM PST by sbark

I was interviewed by several journalists last week about Rick Santelli’s Rant — my exact quote was it had a “Faux” feel to it. (I haven’t seen it in print yet)

What was so odd about this was that Santelli is usually on the ball; we usually agree more often than we disagree. He’s been responsible for some of the best moments on Squawk Box.

But his rant somehow felt wrong. After we’ve pissed through over $7 trillion dollars in Federal bailouts to banks, brokers, automakers, insurers, etc., this was a pittance, the least offensive of all the vast sums of wasted money spent on “losers” to use Santelli’s phrase. It seemed like a whole lot of noise over “just” $75 billion, or 1% of the rest of the total ne’er-do-well bailout monies.

It turns out that there may be more to the story then originally met the eye, according to (yes, really) Playboy magazine.

Maybe it's CNBC that is finished ...

In case you didn't know, England is what you would call ;bankrupt’ — Germany has now tried three times to sell government bonds with no takers each time.

Venezuela is running 50% inflation, they just took over the rice business, since now feeding people is a priority in their paradise lost.

Socialists always go off the bridge first.

The problem comes when no one stands up to the crap peddlers. That is exactly what Rush did yesterday and today they are out to get him. Why do you think that is?

All part of the “Joe the Plumber Smear treatment”
Americans understand bailing out someone’s lifestyle choice is not what made this country great.
You want a big house-then improve your skills, earn some money, and buy the dopey house.

"but rather it was a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign..."

I hope it was. We could use some careful successful planning for a change.

Funny, every time I see the Acting President Obama, I get the same feeling. President for stupid people.....”

So that feeling of rage, nausea and disbelief that a majority of voters are so stupid is called “Faux”?

Hmmm. I learn sumptin new everyday.

Maybe it should be Obama, President for the stupid people.

Is that better?

“led to Sarah Palin’s accusation about 0bama’s associations with terrorists.”

It is NOT an accusation. It IS a fact. An accusation must be proven. When the person accused admits the deed, it becomes a fact.

And, of course, Playboy is the definitive news source. When they remove the pictures, they can make that claim.

Obamaloons lap it up. He doesn’t say a thing that is worth hearing.

This Playboy Article is almost a reprint of several DAILY KOS diaries, with some adjectives thrown in for added effect..

Almost ALL of this “News” came from KOS diaries entitled:

“Rick Santelli, Meet George W. Bush. You piece of ....” 2/21

Another from 2/23 called “Santelli looks to cash in on his new fame” that has been “Mysteriously” deleted. (imagine THAT?)

And another called : “My challenge to Santelli - does he have a conscience”

YET MORE EVIDENCE that the hate at KOS doen’t only DRIVE the media, it’s FROM the media!!

“Who is using who? It sounds to me that this “article” is a “plant.””

Of COURSE it’s a plant.

NO ONE can be allowed to dare challenge the media’s MESSIAH! Questioning Bush was considered “Patriotic”, but to DARE question a Democrat means THE END OF YOUR CARREER...

They do not attack what he says, they attack HIM, personally, just like they did with Joe-the-plumber, and Rush, and so many others..

Let's see. Which must it be? Spontaneous reaction from millions of outraged Americans or a carefully choreographed, militaristic maneuver headed by extremist financiers trying to undermine the great almighty Obama!

This must be a meme with the ascendant Left. I was following a story posted on a thread on Thursday by abb (Tax revolt breathtaking in scope, spunk). The thread and abb's related story were about a brewing property tax revolt in Chapel Hill, NC:

Tax revolt meeting draws up to 1,400 people (Chapel Hill, NC)

It seems that the local taxing authorities had started re-evaluation surveys a couple of years ago at the height of the real estate bubble, and were delivering the stinking inflated valuation payload just now, after everyone's house valuations dropped like a lead balloon.

Well, it seems as though a lot of residents flipped out about it, and showed up to this tax meeting.

I tracked abb's article back, and started looking at local articles on the subject.

It was amazing. One local rag [The Carrboro Citizen] was covering for the local government, giving all sorts of excuses as to why this had happened. I also saw an article (Common sense and taxes) where the comments started out anti-government, then several people moved in and started pumping the pro-government line. One poster insinuated that it was "a handful of national players" (outsiders) that was doing the "agitating".

I guess some of the locals didn't get the "Spread The Wealth" memo...
