Like cockroaches and reality television, old race-baiters die hard. The truth is, however, there just hasn’t been a whole lot for Al Sharpton to do in recent times, except maybe tinker around with his Turbo Tax software. The papers simply aren’t plump with bogus stories of young black girls being raped by white cops anymore, or of nooses being hung from trees by young whites... Today, it's hard to imagine anyone more insignificant or more detached from the societal realities of American life than Reverend Al.
Thanks justiceseeker93.

More insignificant? No, not if you're a Democrat in New York, apparently. Any 'Rat in NY interested in a top state or city job has to seek out and meet with Sharpton. Case in point, just a month or two ago: Caroline Kennedy had a famous lunch with him in Harlem as she announced she was a candidate for the US Senate seat vacated by Her Royal Thighness. Plus, Sharpton still has the capability, as shown with this Post incident, to draw the lefty MSM's attention to him on very short notice, and to gin up protest demonstrations by his "standing army."

More detached from the societal realities of American life? Seems like Eric Holder wants to give Sharpton a good run for his money in that area.
