Actually Pat kinda set Dyson off which in a way is a good thing as he was blathering a bunch of meaningless academic platitudes. When Pat hit the self-destructive behavior in the Black community, Dyson’s platitudes came to an abrupt halt.

Oddly, Dyson makes a valid point about acknowledging racism but his citations are mainly historical. Pat was saying in reply, don’t blame us for it. Look to your own community where the huge problems exist.

Dyson then got upset and wanted to hear the usual group guilt acceptance which Pat flatly refused to issue. And he did it in good humor to his credit.

Dyson cited one incident of a black person in Oakland and Pat just laid waste to him with a bunch of statistics about black crime.

At that point, Dyson didn’t know what hit him. The idea that we can’t talk about race was pretty much moot at that point.

Give Buchanan credit, it took the cowardice line and shredded it right then and there.
