Here is video from tonight where political commentator Pat Buchanan had a real shootout with Professor Michael Eric Dyson over Attorney General Eric Holder's statement yesterday that America is a "nation of cowards" when it comes to race. Host Mike Barnacle (filling in for Chris Matthews) did not agree with Holder's remark, and Pat Buchanan really let Dyson have it when he tried to say that Holder's view was a brilliant statement. . . . . Actually Pat kinda set Dyson off which in a way is a good thing as he was blathering a bunch of meaningless academic platitudes. When Pat hit the self-destructive behavior in the Black community, Dyson’s platitudes came to an abrupt halt.
Oddly, Dyson makes a valid point about acknowledging racism but his citations are mainly historical. Pat was saying in reply, don’t blame us for it. Look to your own community where the huge problems exist.
Dyson then got upset and wanted to hear the usual group guilt acceptance which Pat flatly refused to issue. And he did it in good humor to his credit.
Dyson cited one incident of a black person in Oakland and Pat just laid waste to him with a bunch of statistics about black crime.
At that point, Dyson didn’t know what hit him. The idea that we can’t talk about race was pretty much moot at that point.
Give Buchanan credit, it took the cowardice line and shredded it right then and there.
That my FRiends is a classic for the times. Send it out and watch liberal heads explode.
I still do not understand why Holder did not simply go ahead and call Americans “racists” - all of us (non-melanin enabled) people out here in “You-don’t-matter-land” know perfectly well that is what he meant anyway.
Whatta complete Piece of crap...this mental midget is going to do what I had previously considered impossible...
He’ll make Janet Reno and Jocelyn Elders look qualified and professional.
A.A.C.
Naaah, I didn't think so. Pat easily clean this POS's clock.
When Buchanan pulled out those criminal stats and challenged the black community to take responsibility, you knew Dyson was done when all he could do was re-hash the tried and every race card in the deck - "Slavery, Jim Crow...blah-blah-blah."
Hear ya...
Holder shows three aces at the poker table then calls everyone else at the table "p*ssies" for laughing and folding?? The new AG is a JO.
We should expect much more of this overt "payback" BS from 0bama and his Administration homeboys.
So Dyson and Holder want a “dialogue” on race, do they? This is the form it’s going to take, and it’s high time, too. They should have been much more careful what they wished for.
Why is the Boston Glob plagiarist Mike Barnicle getting to do all the stuff he does?
Heard him tonight (unfortunately I have to run through parent’s LR when its on) launch off about Bush’s taking Clinton SURPLUS south. Got me onto this outstanding site- FIRST one to come up on google search for “Clinton surplus” (now there’s a good sign):

Dyson also said that Jesse Jackson had been addressing black crime, illiteracy and 75% illegitimate birth rates for the last 40 years. Total BS, all Jesse has been doing is shaking down companies for donations to his personal cause. The only high profile black person that I have heard address these issues is Bill Cosby, and he has been vilified by the so called black leaders like Jackson and Sharpton. Buchanan was also trying to point out that the black community did not have these type of statistics prior to the great society.
Yep, Pat unleashed the heavy artillery, and Dyson predictably responded the only way he knows how ....."Jim Crow, Jim Crow." They'll be crowing incoherently long after the fat lady (Aretha?) stops singing.
To think of all of the loss that our white ancestors went through and this person has the gall to call us cowards. Does he include himself when he calls Americans cowards?
I wonder if during black history month the carnage of the civil war is ever mentioned?
I wonder if during black history month they mention that it was Obama’s Arab ancestors that sold their black ancestors into slavery, and they are still holding slaves today in Africa? What about the poor black people in Darfur, having a process of genocide committed against them by the Arab, Moslem, Sudanese Africans?
America isn't perfect, but I am proud of our many accomplishments, and our race relations is one of them!
bump for later
As I recall, Jesse contributed to that 75% illegitimacy rate with his dalliance with his staffer.
The country just elected its first black president, and the new AG (who is black too) accuses the country of being a nation of cowards. The denseness and abject stupidity in Holder's statement is astonishing. And sad. Obviously Holder had to get approval from Obama to make those statements. What a mess we are in. Obama didn't wait more than one week to start his socialist scheme to remake America, and then he has his AG make a race-baiting speech. Unbelievable.
Paraphrasing Dyson: “Black people hear negative things about themselves everyday in the press; white people do not. It’s time we start spreading the pain.” Someone, somehwere has circulated talking points about slavery/segregation reparations, I can almost guarantee it. This is so BHO’s “community organizer” style: insults used to start an in your face confrontation followed by fairness argument. See, e.g., ACORN: accusing banks of being racist and threatening to sue on the argument it’s not fair most mortgages go to white people, etc.
This is just the beginning and with a stimulus package written by Pelosi and Reid totaling $870 billion, we now have a baseline for all things social/redistributive. And speaking of $870 billion, think about this: 1 million seconds is 11.57 days; 1 billion seconds is 31.7 years. 870 million seconds is 26 years; 870 billion seconds is 27,840 years. It’s staggering.
Oh yea, I forgot about that!
Yeah, any talk of "victimhood" has been short-circuited somewhat by B-HO's ascent to the American Throne. How many times can the Race-Card be played when "The Man" is 0bama and Holder? Everything STILL can't be Bush's, Pat Buchanan's or "Dead-White-Guts'" fault, can it?
"Yep, Pat unleashed the heavy artillery, and Dyson predictably responded the only way he knows how .....'Jim Crow, Jim Crow.' They'll be crowing incoherently long after the fat lady (Aretha?) stops singing."
Lol, in the year 2525 - several generations after Aretha's great, great, great granddaughter is done singing and B-Ho's face is on a Trillion Dollar Bill, MAYBE the race-pimps will tone down race-card playing.
Man, Pat was locked and loaded with those crime stats. Funny how "Professor" Dyson's cards ALL looked the same. How 'bout that? I'm surprised he didn't go deep into the deck and mention the KKK as Pat was cleaning his clock....
Lol - speaking of Aretha, she was voted greatest singer in rock era in a Rolling Stone poll. Yeah, o-kaaaaay....
GREAT question.
But Holder won't be challenged with such a question. Why not you ask? It'd be considered "racist" or else it'd have already been asked.
Holder dared ANY one and EVERY one to take their shot; No one stepped up, so in a sense Holder was right about who the "cowards" are. Were. And for that matter WILL be.
"To think of all of the loss that our white ancestors went through and this person has the gall to call us cowards. Does he include himself when he calls Americans cowards?"
Again, since the "cowards" Holder alludes to are obviously "White America," he and by proxy 0bama are picking a fight.
When will 0bama be asked by a sycophantic press corp of wh*res, "Does Eric Holder speaks for you or your Justice Department?" Not happening. If so, would we hear the usual tried and true bilge, "That's not the Eric Holder I knew..." BS?
"I wonder if during black history month the carnage of the civil war is ever mentioned?"
White "Carnage" = Irrelevance.
Absolutely. Dyson's comical lack of credibility and intellectual honesty was on display right then and there. His book will be nothing but 99% bullsh*t, as are his "credentials."
"All Jesse has been doing is shaking down companies for donations to his personal cause."
COMMON KNOWLEDGE.
"The only high profile black person that I have heard address these issues is Bill Cosby, and he has been vilified by the so called black leaders like Jackson and Sharpton."
You're right - and that is shameful. Cosby was hammered and far few too many high-profile blacks refused to back him up.
