I once asked a Secret Service Agent if it was true that was an Uzi under his coat.
I was escorted from the room.

I was invited by our Precinct Committee Officer to join him and 2 bus loads of others that were invited to see President Bush off during a Seattle area trip. The security was impressive. I could not guess what was in the black containers the Secret Service was carrying up with them to the roof of the airport terminal. Prior to going through the security check point we were not allowed to take any pictures. At the check point they had us turn on our cameras in front of them, I guess to show they were a real camera. If you did take photos prior to going through the check point they asked you to hand over the film or erase the chip, even if the photo was taken while you were still on the bus. Once inside it was pretty much normal and you could take photos again, as long as you stayed within the rope area. We were right beside Air force One. Bush, coming from Fort Lewis landed in Marine One and was supposed to walk our line to shake hands - but it was during this helicopter trip he received news about an American in Iraq who had his head chopped off by terrorist, so instead he took a beeline to some press that was staged for his comment.
It was a day I will never forget.

I was in Germany in the early 80’s and got called in to open a shelter facility. I opened it up and in walked President Reagon with whole entourage.
