How Many Dems in the Senate Voted on Stimulus?
vanity | Feb. 13, 2009 | malkee

Correct me if I am wrong, but are there not 58 Democrats in the Senate? Fox is reporting that Sherrod Brown, a democratic senator from Ohio, will be the 60th vote in favor of the stimulus bill. But what happened to the three GOP votes? If Snowe, Collins and Specter all voted in favor of the stimulus, would the total not be 61, with the 62nd coming from Brown? Anyone who can help explain this to me will be thanked.

Ted Kennedy isn’t able to vote. 57 Dems + 3 RINO backstabbers = 60 votes to invoke cloture.

Nice of the senate to keep the voting open for hours though.

Even nicer is the president providing a plane for Brown to make it for the vote.

Brown just voted for. Kennedy is in Florida fighting cancer. The three rino’s voted for... 58-1+3=60.

A very sad day for USA.

I’m trying to figure out what they are doing now. Bipartisan my a$$!
This is in God’s hands now - pray and get a gun!

Thanks, but 57 Dems and the 3 RINOS still leaves Brown to make 61. Which one are we missing?

Yes but he gets to dodge his handiwork. Just like a liberal to make a mess and then leave others to deal with it.

Now we have to work to get the three biggest RINOs in the senate out. Send money to any conservative republicans running against them, they won’t have Steele or Bush giving them cover. Specter is fighting for his seat next year. He’s gone, I will be sending money to his conservative opponent and will be getting my friends to do the same.

I promise to do what I can to help the opposition against these three Rino’s.

I’d wager that such an act of compassion wouldn’t be made available if it had been a Republican senator in like circumstances.

Yes, lets grieve like the Dims do for one of ours, notably Tony Snow. Tony Snow versus Ted Kennedy is no comparison IMO on who is the greater AMERICAN! TK and Chappaquiddick are forever linked and he was ABSOLUTELY dishonorable BEYOND ANYONE'S DOUBT THAT HAS ANY INTEGRITY!!

How many Demoncrats does it take to screw up a Stimulus bill?

One to write it and 58 to sign it without reading!

Psst it's Friday the 13th and I am LOL deprived!

We can all sleep good tonight knowing that while WE will be struggling to make ends meet, field mice in Nancy Pelosi’s neighborhood will be getting new condo’s to live in.

Without the 3 RINOs there would have been no 60th vote — thus, in reality, all 3 are responsible for the bill passing and they should all pay the consequences of selling out the American people.

Notice what Evan Bayh was quietly up to ~ proving that ONE Democrat can hold up everything if he wishes ~ so what was he wishing for and did he get it?

I suspect he just got guarantees of full funding for I-69 all the way from Fort Wayne, Indiana to Ameria, Mexico ~ and the Lord help any Texan foolish enough to try to stop it this time.
