Here is video of Sen. Judd Gregg's Press Conference today announcing his withdrawal as President Obama's nominee to be Secretary of Commerce. Gregg cited differences with Obama over moving oversight of the coming U.S. Census from the Commerce Department to the White House, and the Stimulus Package as factors in his decision.
Gregg has done the right thing. His withdrawal shows that Obama's agenda is indeed more radical than many people realize. Gregg apparently realized the last couple of days that he could not in good conscience go forward with the nomination. . . . . . (Watch Video)

What would have been fun is if he had gone through the process, and answered all the questions with harsh criticisms of Obama’s moves, and made Obama withdraw his nomination.
Still, I’m glad he realised he was being screwed over.
Sharpest knife in the drawer right there. Two years of campaigning, votes in the Senate, the transition, the three weeks since inauguration, and it's just now in the past few days that Judd Gregg figures out he might have a problem with Chairman Hussein and his policies. Wow.
I understand the census was swiped from the Commerce Dept., but why does he care about the stimulus?
Possibility: spending within the stimulus that usually would be done via Commerce is also taken away, either in the text of the bill, or Emanuel told Gregg the spending control is being taken away.
Probably so the Chicago Crew can get the cash easier, and with less strings.
A good reporter would ask follow up questions to Gregg what the problem was with the stimulus and was it on numbers, or control?
Gregg could have been jealous of all the money the girls next door got for their state.
Good on him for realizing he was getting screwed on one of his primary job functions and that he would be just window dressing with (R) next to his name so Obama could show how “Bi-partisan” he is.
God help us survive this adminstration.
He would be a Republican with a title, no power.
No census, no control of how the stimulus is to be spent. In other words, he wouldn’t do anything but be a face to show Obama ‘reaching across the aisle’.
” realized the last couple of days “
I didn’t see the press conference, but, the clip I saw later made Gregg look as wimpy in withdrawing,
as accepting.
Was Gregg in a cave the past year ?
Obama’s agenda is news to him ??
The remaining Republican Morons are Snowe, Specter and Collins.
If Barry is as cunning as we believe, he’ll next tap Collins for Commerce.
The woman obviously doesn’t have a clue.
0bama nominated him without finding out Gregg’s basic political views? What a rookie!
Wait, wait, I got it. Let's get a marxist mulatto, preferably born in another country, trained by dangerous radical bomb-throwing terrorists, spawned by Chicago's criminal Democratic Machine, and I have a way it won't cost us a cent to put him in office. We'll get George Soros to pick up the tab!
Speaking of picking up the tab and keeping the change, young Soetoro-Obama has just become one of the world's richer marxists. Do the math. He raised over $1 billion for his campaign from only Allah knows where, spent a mere $750 Million or so. So my friends, he gets to keep the change. Perfectly legal. A dirty little-not-so-secret of our wonderful two-party system.
Now here's another funny, if unbelievable anecdote. 53% of those Americans who could be induced to leave the couch and vote, actually voted for Obama.
My take -
A lot of heat from Republicans.
Also, nervousness about his seat, sure, a Repub but what would that person’s chances be in NH, now a blue state at the leglislative and gubernatorial level. Hence, without Gregg’s name, prolly switch to Dems next election.
