I don't think I have ever posted a vanity on here, but I heard something today on the radio that was disturbing.
During the last commercial break on Rush Limbaugh a paid advertisment came on attacking the U.S. House member from my district (Blaine Luetkemeyer) and said that we need to call his office to tell him to support President Obama's stimulus package, that the majority of Americans were for it, and it is wrong of him to oppose it. It kept repeating "we need to support President Obama." After it was done it said it was paid for by some acronym based group and some organization called "Americans United for Change."
So let me get this straight...we have a groups supporting the president taking out paid airtime to try and foist his policies on the public? It sounded 100% like a campaign ad--the voices, everything. I have never heard an ad espousing a presidential policy initiative AFTER the election in my entire life.
People don't want to hear this garbage. If this is going to be his modus operundi, he is going to wear out his welcome much sooner than I even thought.
Has anyone else heard any of these ads?
I heard it too, even though my congressman will vote no.
I live in Kansas City. I believe you can find out who paid for the ads.
Americans United for Change is a union front group that has been agitating for the porkulus bill. I heard they were running ads in MO-09. I guess they feel either Luetkemeyer is vulnerable (I disagree) or that the stimulus is popular in that district (I also disagree). Anyway, these union thugs obviously think that Obama needs cover from Republicans, and that tells me that the stimulus is a dog and will be an anchor around the Democrats and Obama’s neck down the road.
BTW, I love KFRU and Columbia, as a former Tiger myself. I’ll be in town this weekend for the Nebraska game.

So I listen with a long range antenna to a station about 100 miles away. Get a tunable ferrite loop AM antenna for long range listening.

Yes, perpetual offense based on perpetual lies to perpetuate mindless mob rule and the glorification of political mobsters. I tell you, it’s getting hard swallowing this stuff sitting down. I don’t even recognize my own country anymore.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I just about puked when I heard it. I really don’t think the public will go for perpetual campaigning—people are way too fickle for that garbage.
StL—I have been in Columbia for 14 years. It’s a nice town. I am originally from Nebraska, though, so we’ll be on opposite sides of the fence this weekend!! (Once a Husker fan, always a Husker fan—even though I went back to school at MU!) KFRU has done some really strange stuff recently—they fired all of their local news staff and dumped a popular local morning show guy. They are hacking a lot of people off.
