LOL! There was, in fact, a flamewar that broke out over the weekend (it's locked now) in which a DUmmie called out someone on a PETA forum because the PETA loon was having trouble getting her cat to accept a vegan diet.
PETA is a subject of great controversy over there; most DUmmies even think the PETA people are a little nuts. But a lot of DUmmies who support PETA and any silly idea that comes down the pike and were arguing that the cat would not, as the OP opined, die.
It's a mad mad mad mad world.
People like that shouldn't have pets. They could basically torture them to death.
