Sorry - had to rant.

I’m sorry this is happening to your family. MySpace is a cesspool. And, of course - as you rightly discerned - not all who call themselves Christians, actually are.

Why the hell would you post something like this here? Your life that boring? And to boot, you start out wondering why the idiots are bashing Religion, and then turn it to your own family... Get a life man!!!

Hey Admin... Say this cat some embarrassment and yank this thread...

Everybody wants to be a star... And MySpace gives them that illusion.

It ranks up there with Mtv if ya ask me.

Something similar happened in our family. Then someone sent the link to grandma and grandpa. Also, a potential employer happened across it. The pictures may still be out there but at least now they can only be viewed by those “invited” to see their pages as it has since been changed to a “private” setting. I know this doesn’t address that main point of your rant, but at least it did help get them to stop advertising for the entire world to see. It’s a start. A little shame can go a long way.

You obviously have way too much time on your hands.

I am a Youth Leader for my church’s youth group, and sadly I see this every single day with Youth in my church. The Youth Pastor and I have discussed it several times, he has preached sermons about the danger of losing your Witness through what you have on your Myspace and Facebook page, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference at all. It’s even scarier, that some of the teens who have the raciest and most profane items on their pages have parents in positions of authority at our church. These teens are the ones praying at the altar every week, raising their hands in Worship, and yet- they’re the worst offenders. I don’t get it either.

As one of my Catholic buddies used to say, "Hate the sin, but love the sinner".

It can be hard to do. We are right to warn our brother,{or sister} but leave the judging to the judge. Read up on the prodigal son. Then read it again. The father ran to meet his son when he saw him from far away. We should never let ourselves be like the brother that refused to celebrate the return of his sibling.

Just a guess :)

What’s wrong with saying they’re both cute? I don’t get it. I know some cute women who have cute kids. Obviously they’re different kinds of cute, but they’re all cute. Nothing wrong with being cute. English tends to tie a lot of different meanings to single words, and most of the meanings tied to cute are 100% non-sexual.

As for Christians who swear, they’re just words, if they’re not uptight about them that’s their business. I was raised by Marines, swear words have never bothered me, and I’ve certainly never cosidered them un-Christian.
