Judd Gregg tapped, replaced by moderate Bonnie Newman. New Hampshire blue in the face?

In the midst of all the tax dodging and CIA prison shutdowns the Obama administration in the spirit of bi-partisanship tapped NH Senator Judd Gregg to fill the spot that Bill Richardson had to abandon. Judd Gregg worked some special deal where the NH Democrat Governor would be obligated to select a Republican to fill Gregg's vacancy.

Not much is known about Bonnie Newman, but so far it appears that she is a moderate. If it were not for the unbearable squealing from the DailyKos I would think that our senate situation has worsened, but I have a feeling that anyone not sporting a hammer and sickle would feel the wrath from the folks over at the daily kos.

Moderate is another socialist term for a reach out across the aisle in the name of bipartisanship Republican. In other words a socialist.

The only good part of this is that now NH is done with Gregg forever!

If you are from NH, can you explain why the libs think that the 2010 senate seat is a lock?

Because they will cheat or do whatever it takes. So far they have been pretty successful.

Perhaps, but it seems like the state is just moving left - which is very very sad.

Isn’t it moving left because so many libs from Mass. are moving up to southern NH and then commuting to work in Mass. This has been going on for a number of years now.

Yes, the irony of it is that they are moving out of MA to escape taxes and the liberal chokehold and then voting in the exact same politicians over there.

How stupid are liberals? VERY VERY stupid. I should know, as they surround me here.

Gregg was Chief Apologist for AIG- said the execs were undone by nasty in-house accounting people (rings of Enron excuses). He stated this on radio right in the teeth of the AIG revelations.

I was actually hoping beyond all hope he’d have it that Sununu would be re-seated. Should I check myself into the clinic now?

intersting about the AIG story, sounds like most conservatives don’t have much love for this guy.

You think sununu would be reseated after losing an election? lol, yeah check yourself in man :)

NH Republicans need to produce better candidates.

As some explanation, my cousin has worked for both Sununus continuously for just under the number of years it takes to get a full federal pension...well actually not that selfish...Jr was really the only Senator worth the title in all New England. Its all very sad up here...a very, very sad state of affairs.

For the longest time I wouldn’t have so much minded if CA slid into the ocean. Now i could draw a map with most of New England and parts states down thru DC and can say same. We are irredeemable. This region is LOST.

“If you are from NH, can you explain why the libs think that the 2010 senate seat is a lock?”

Despite being a full-fledged RINO, Gregg is very popular and has a long family history in NH politics — his father was governor and he has a rolodex full of connections to all the movers and shakers in NH.

He’s also popular with the people across parties. If he stayed on until 2010, there is no doubt he would have been re-elected.

The seat is now open - so the Dems think they have a chance. I’m not so sure.

For one, Sununu now has a straight shot at the R nomination and is a proven conservative Senator. Second, by 2010 Obama will be such a disaster that the citizens will start turning their backs on liberal kooks like the probable Dem nominee Hodes.

I just can’t believe Lynch agreed to replace Gregg with an (R). I guess that’s why his approval ratings are so high — even though he’s a do-nothing king of mediocracy he manages to do things that barely manage to register on the piss-off scale.

Thank you! That makes perfect sense, so in reality NH and the rest of us are better off now that the Gregg is gone.

I am btw, still somewhat annoyed that to get anywhere in politics one has to be some damn well connected. People like Daschle, Kennedy, Gregg have so much power and so many connections that is is absolutely staggering. Is this really how it was supposed to be? I digress.

Anyway, I agree with you 100%. It would appear that the liberals are giddy because they assume that their liberal foothold will remain. If things are horrible and I suspect they will be, 2010 will be like 1994. Assuming the media does not cover for 0dummer.

Obama's administration may hike H-1B visa cap, with Judd Gregg, the latest Obama tool, leading the way.

But isn’t Newman a “Republican” who supported Lynch, has been working in academia, and just described herself as a “reasonable Republican”?

right. But that still pisses off the Libs. Like I said Libs are blinded by the letter R, no matter how RINO
