Heck no! He’s a DEMOCRAT! They can break the law and slide 99.999% of the time.
Besides, a fresh face like Daschles is an essential part of the new ‘Change’ we all need to put our hope in!

I’ll be ‘deeply saddened’ if he isn’t sent packing. President Zero used up every excuse for tax evasion with Geithner.

Even the NY Times is calling upon him to step down. That should say something ...

Sad thing is there were republicans that voted for Geithner.

I agree. And the Repubs - who are deathly afraid of being blamed if the “stimulus” doesn’t work - are still trying to stand upright from having bent over backwards for Geithner. Evn if you buy the argument that Geithner is “indespensible”(I don’t), you’d be hard pressed to make that argument about Daschle since his lobbying creates too many conficts of interest.

Doesn’t matter, conservatives win either way.
If BO adds another tax cheating scumbag and/or lobbyist to his team, it is to his discredit.

If he steps down, can he get his money back from the IRS?

Exactly.
It kills me they say Geithner is ‘the one’ and this idiot couldn’t be bothered to file a correct tax return.

If it is DOA, it’s still unfortunate that many are only looking at this like a confirmation issue. Not only should he be answering for this in front of the Senate, but shouldn’t he be answering for this in front of a federal prosecutor?
To: theothercheek
Hey! Daschle’s “shorter than the average bear”! You can’t pick on Boo-Boo that way!!!

Are you kidding? Didn’t you see all the Dems standing behind him last night? Of course, he might need to see if there are any knives in his back...

At the risk of destroying what little, if any credibility I have, I think Dashle will be confirmed. After all he is one of the boys. Being a member or former member of the senate trumps any and all ethical or criminal concerns. I would not trust any of them to walk my dog. not a one!
Al Capone is probably spinning in his grave since income tax evasion is what nailed him.
