The big 200 ton mining trucks are “electric” with electric drives on each wheel. The diesel generator on the truck powers the electric motors and indirectly supplies the power to move the load. I don't know the fuel usage comparison with, say, the old 75 ton diesels but can't imagine a difference that is that extreme.
