You're probably right, but it is an interesting question nonetheless, one that needs asking and responding to with debate. Obviously the Conservatives need to broaden their appeal without sacrificing our principles.

Frankly I support the man of Steele in his 80/20 effort to do that. I thought Steele reaching out and embracing what the house Conservative caucus did with porkulus was a good start.

His speech to the GOP congressmen yesterday was a good one, I think if anyone can draw people pack to the GOP Steele can. The alternative, on the last ballot, was one that truly would have played into the term “Country Club Republicans” and made us a laughing stock for the next go-round.
