Obama and FEMA Leave Americans to Die in Kentucky
I guess what with Kentucky being a red state the heartless Barack Obama and FEMA can't be bothered helping the suffering Americans trying to cope with a massive ice storm that has left them powerless.
In some parts of rural Kentucky, they're getting water the old-fashioned way — with pails from a creek. There's not room for one more sleeping bag on the shelter floor.

The only thing we have heard from FEMA is one load of large generators for some of the shelter areas. People are helping each other, taking in friends, lending generators, clearing tree branches from streets, etc. We don't need no stinking government.
It's warm here today (46 degrees) and the ice has melted from the trees and powerlines. There are still about 750,000 people without power. I wish I knew how to post pictures because I have several that show what we had on Thursday and Friday.
I don’t think anyone here thinks yall can’t make it on your own. It’s just frustrating how FEMA still is in NO last I heard and we hear nothing about any assistance to you guys.

When a white Republican is President and the disaster affects blacks, the media are all over the story 24/7. They report FEMA is incompetent and uncaring, and attribute both to racism.
When a black Democrat is President and the disaster affects whites, the media is silent and FEMA is "doing a great job."
The only thing consistent about the media is their bias.
just short of 6 days in BFE KY...we got lucky and the temps came way up the past couple days and thawed us out...
trees bent all the way over on my fencerow, tops literally touching the ground...

So happy for you. Hope you and yours didn’t have it too bad. After heat, and food the computer is next in line for what I miss the most. Close enough to the city that we usually keep our water supply.
AMEN!! This good ol’ fat white country boy knows how to build a fire. Run a chainsaw. Shoot his own food, skin n’ cook it, too!
This past week has been like camping ‘ceptin’ the tent had brick walls. Power is back now. Not any more uncomfortable than Camp Normandy in Graf for a winter tank gunnery.
Now to clean up the downed trees, take a shower and do some laundry.
